Your content is safe

First, the reassuring part: this screen does not mean your invitation is lost. All the content, photos, guest list, wishes and RSVPs are still there.

It is only a temporary lock on what guests can see. Once unlocked, guests get straight back in and you have nothing to rebuild.

The two usual causes

First, the invitation is still on the free trial and has reached its view limit. This is the most common cause, especially just after sending the link to a lot of guests at once.

Second, the invitation is unpublished, or was unpublished at some point. Guests then tap the link and cannot open the contents.

The fastest fix: upgrade

Open My Invitations, find the right card and tap Pay. Upgrading removes the view limit, so guests can get back in as soon as the payment is recognised.

You do not need to publish again or send a new link. The link your guests already have keeps working.

Upgrading from the card is the fastest unlock.

If the cause is that it is unpublished

Open the invitation in the editor and look at the Publish button at the top. If the button is still showing, the invitation is not published.

Tapping Publish opens the link for guests immediately. This case costs nothing; it is just a missed step.

A visible Publish button means it is not published yet.

If you are still not sure

Open your invitation link yourself in a private browsing tab. That shows you exactly what guests are seeing, rather than the owner's preview.

If it is still unclear, message support with the invitation link. The link alone is enough for them to see what state the card is in.
